Rating  - So far so good
No problems so far with false alarms, etc. The detector broke after about 2 weeks, but Amazon replaced it very quickly....
Rating  - sensitve detector, poor mount
This seems to be a good detector. I got caught in Ohio by a cop that just turned on his laser. The detector lit up and sounded off like the 4th of july, but the laser was just turned on so they got me. You really need a radar and laser jammer nowadays. The mount sucks. Use a grip pad for the dash, or maybe hang from the mirror in states were its legal to have these. I havan't been using as a result of the laser problem. But it has definitely saved me a few potential tickets. I didn't even know they were using those new sport looking Dodge sedans for law enforcement in Mi til i bought this beltronics. Great at detection, but that's not enough.
Rating - Great product
If I had a do over, I would probably have spent the extra $20 for the 965 rather than the 955. Quite a few false alerts with the X-band.
The 965 is suppose to allow you to turn on and off individual different radar bands. The 955 does not allow this, it only allows you to enable/diable POP and SWS. The 955 does allow X-band detection to be reduced or disabled in city mode, but can not be changed in other modes.
But overall a great product. I would give it 3.5 stars if that was an option.
Rating - top budget detector
After reading all the reviews about this detector, I finally decided to buy it, after having it a week it picked up a cop hidden on an overpass and saved me, its good to switch the X band off on city mode cause driving around a business district can get very annoying, mounts not bad and the cord is fine, I wish the cord jack into the unit was on the left side instead of the right though, other than that stupid thing I'm very pleased with my purchase and suggest the same product to others...
Rating - BEL Vector 955
This detector does a reasonably good job, however I wouldn't bet my wallet on it. So far it appears to give sufficient warning to allow me to be alert. Extraneous alarms are minimal.
