I'm glad I chose this model. Easy to assemble and figure out codes. Nice size, fits right next to my computer with no static problems.

I had an old Radio Shack Scanner.but it nevr wore just right.it would cut out on calls.and after a while it wouldn't pick up certain channels.
The Uniden is 100% better.I sat down with the book and in a hafl an hour I had loaded all the Channesl. b ut let me sat this first .
order the police Scanner book , it takes a little while to understank,but if I chould do it any can. it will give you code and more in formation to understand what you are hearing .like 1097/code 4/1020 and much more.

This scanner works well when it works. But as has been written about this and other Bearcat scanners it is tricky to use, program, etc. I had it working and scanning then when turning it on again it wouldn't scan. Probably hit one wrong button, but after half an hour of trying every option you just give up. There are a lot of features on these scanner and that may be the problem, one wrong key and your dead.

I have really enjoyed having this scanner.I no longer have to have an alarm clock because this scanner has one. It also has a radio. I would recommend this to everybody.
