This sub is freakin awesome! I can't believe this thing only cost me $70 shipped. This sub is excellent at giving you that smooth sounding low extension in movies and music. I would absolutely recommend this sub - it's not boomy or "boxy" sounding at all, very tight and smooth. I cracked mine open and added polyfil on the inside, which added greatly to it's output and low end extension.

THIS WAS MY SECOND SUBWOOFER AND THE FIRST YAMAHA PRODUCT I HAVE ERVER OWNED BEFORE AND I'D HAVE TO SAY I LOVE IT, IF YOU SEE ANY BAD REVIEWS ON THIS, I'D SAY THEY JUST HAVE IT HOOKED UP WRONG OR SOMETHING,I HAVE A ONKYO RECIEVER MODEL# TX-SR304 AND I JUST GOT IT AS WELL SO IF YOUR LOOK'N FOR THAT TO ITS A GOOD BUY. THE BASS OUT OF THE SUB IS AWSOME IT WORKS WELL AND ANY SIZE ROOM I WOULD THINK BIG OR SMALL YOU REALLY CANT GO WRONG WITH THIS ONE I AM NOW A YAMAHA FAN

I have to agree with the other reviews on this product. It works great in a smaller room giving you tons of bass. When I put it in my living room roughly 26x18 it still performed nicely. It doesn't give you the big boomy bass but I wasn't looking for that being a movie fanatic. It provides nice low sounding bass way below that of my bose front speakers. This is worth the $89 I paid for it. Only thing I didn't like was it didn't come with a Rca plug. Also you have to turn it off manually. I think next time I will look for one with a remote.
